Mike Hogan
Local Host - All Things Considered, Digital Media Coordinator, Host "Live & Local"By joining the staff at KIOS as the local "Morning Edition" Host in November of 2017, Mike Hogan’s radio career has come full circle. His first radio job was with St. Louis, Missouri NPR affiliate 88.1 FM KDHX.
Not content to rest on his laurels or enjoy a regular paycheck, Mike chose to move to Los Angeles where he was employed as an actor…When he wasn’t too busy waiting tables. Though appearing in the movie “Stay Tuned” with John Ritter and on the television shows “Hearts Afire” and “Beverly Hills, 90210,” the siren song of radio called him to the world of play-by-play. Several years of broadcasting live hockey and an opportunity with the Omaha Lancers brought Mike to Omaha, where he met his lovely wife of more than 20 years.
Radio jobs over the years have been mixed with engagements in sales, IT Consulting, stand-up comedy, and, most recently, a four year stint hosting "The Morning Show" on KHUB/KFMT in Fremont, NE.
In August of 2019, Mike was named the Digital Media Coordinator and local host of the show All Things Considered. In moving to the afternoons, Mike brought with him the "Live & Local" feature that gives Omaha Metro people making a difference the chance to share their accomplishments and events.
In January of 2021, Mike was named "Media Partner of the Year" by the Public Relations Society of America-Nebraska for his work on the "Live & Local" feature interviews. And in 2022, the Nebraska Broadcasters Association (NBA) awarded Mike both a Gold and Silver Award also for work on the "Live & Local" program. 2023 brought another Gold award from the NBA and the accusation that Mike is becoming "a hoarder." After more wins in 2024, 2025, and 2026, Mike has just accepted that he is very lucky and blessed to have this career!
Mike is thrilled to be a part of KIOS, thanks you for making "Morning Edition" and "All Things Considered" a part of your daily routine, and hopes to meet each and every listener over the course of his career here!...No hurry though, he plans to be at KIOS for a very long time!
Despite what his size may indicate, Mike has eaten quinoa.
